A SSI Schaefer Case Study
The customer, automotive supplier Brose, sought to restructure logistics and production supply at its Ostrava plant to create a forklift-free factory, aiming for absolute process reliability and high performance. The vendor, SSI SCHAEFER, acted as the general contractor to implement an innovative material flow concept centered around a fully automated tugger train system.
SSI SCHAEFER implemented a solution that integrated a fully automated tugger train loading process directly within the existing SAP EWM infrastructure, an industry-first innovation. This was supported by a high-bay warehouse, a miniload system, and robotic applications. The results included minimal manual handling, streamlined workflows, increased process transparency, higher throughput, and improved economics for Brose, with the project coordinator expressing extreme satisfaction with the intelligent solution.
