ASKO OSLOFJORD AS was facing a future capacity problem at its existing facility and needed a solution to manage its expected growth. The retail company partnered with vendor SSI SCHAEFER to develop a new, highly automated logistics concept to avoid simply building a larger manual warehouse.

SSI SCHAEFER implemented a turn-key distribution center featuring two temperature zones and 28,700 pallet storage locations. The solution, which included the SSI Case Picking system, automated pallet conveying systems, and the WAMAS warehouse management software, automated the compilation of store-friendly pallets and optimized material flow. This highly automated center from SSI SCHAEFER provided the capacity for future growth and established a new standard in sustainable operations.
