MPE Plastics, an Italian automotive supplier, faced challenges due to limited warehouse space, low picking performance, and rising costs from manual processes that threatened its competitiveness. To address this, MPE partnered with SSI SCHAEFER for a semi-automated intralogistics solution.

SSI SCHAEFER implemented a system combining a mobile racking system with 5,100 pallet locations and automated guided vehicles (AGVs). This solution streamlined the material flow between two connected halls, recovering storage space and optimizing work processes. The project resulted in a stabilized material flow, reduced long-term costs, and allowed MPE to meet stringent customer delivery specifications immediately after commissioning.
