QuantiParts B.V., a subsidiary of Wärtsilä that supplies OEM components for marine engines, faced challenges with space-consuming pallet racking, a time-consuming picking process, and a high error rate. To optimize their warehouse, they partnered with SSI SCHAEFER to implement a semi-automated storage and picking solution for their small spare parts.

SSI SCHAEFER installed four SSI LOGIMAT® Vertical Lift Modules, which consolidated the storage of small parts and freed up pallet space for larger components. The system, featuring laser pointers and ergonomic trays for error-free picking, was integrated with the customer's ERP system. The solution increased total warehouse capacity to 1,500 pallet locations, significantly boosted picking speed, and minimized the picking error rate.
