DB Schenker, a major logistics service provider, needed to establish a new distribution center for a leading automotive manufacturer to supply spare parts throughout Switzerland. The challenge was to integrate a warehouse solution for parts of various sizes into an existing building and to optimize processes, including automating the transport of heavy picking bins to reduce staff strain. Vendor SSI Schaefer provided the solution.

SSI Schaefer implemented a storage system featuring its R 3000 three-storey shelving system and PR 600 pallet racking. The solution included an automated conveyor system to move bins between rack levels. This allowed DB Schenker to successfully set up the center, expand its capacity, and achieve significant process optimization. The project was completed on schedule, providing an ideal solution for the client's needs.
