Case Study: JYSK expands its distribution center with SSI Schaefer

JYSK, a Danish furniture retailer, faced a capacity challenge as its distribution center in Nässjö, Sweden, was 76,000 pallet spaces too small, forcing it to use nine external warehouses. The company selected SSI SCHAEFER as its system supplier based on their proven partnership and prior successful projects. SSI SCHAEFER's solution included the expansion of the existing facility and the implementation of its WAMAS® logistics software.

SSI SCHAEFER expanded the center by adding a new 40-meter-high warehouse equipped with 10 double-deep pallet cranes and a new shipping area with conveyor technology. This added 76,000 pallet spaces, bringing the total to 165,000 and consolidating all storage under one roof. The project, completed in fall 2015, successfully ended JYSK's reliance on external storage and improved logistics for its stores in Sweden and Finland.
