Niemann + Frey GmbH, a leading European wholesaler for motorcycle and scooter parts, faced capacity limits at its logistics center due to high growth. Their challenge was to increase storage and picking capacity for 50,000 small parts within their existing infrastructure. They partnered with SSI SCHAEFER to develop a semi-automated solution involving Vertical Lift Modules.

SSI SCHAEFER implemented two SSI LOGIMAT® Vertical Lift Modules, which provided 12,000 storage locations. The system, integrated with their ERP, uses Pick to Light and laser pointers to guide operators, significantly accelerating order processing and improving ergonomics. The solution enabled Niemann + Frey to maintain their 97 percent delivery guarantee and efficiently handle a constant influx of new items within their current warehouse footprint.
