SSG Insight and Agility helping to keep BAE Systems in Australia ship-shape

BAE Systems Williamstown, the Victorian shipyard of global defence company BAE Systems Australia, needed to manage more than 10,000 assets across a large, security‑sensitive site and keep maintenance aligned with strict safety and regulatory changes. The existing maintenance system was aging and the team required a more flexible, up‑to‑date solution to handle scheduled servicing, ad hoc breakdowns and timely communication of safety rules to staff.

SSG Insight implemented the browser‑based Agility CMMS (2009) and Agility Portal helpdesk (2010), migrating historical data and configuring job sheets to include current safety attachments while enabling intranet fault reporting. The solution improved access and scheduling, automated notifications, better job prioritisation and labour-planning, reduced paperwork, increased proactive maintenance and lowered costs — outcomes that led to roll‑out at other BAE sites.
