Nottingham Trams Ltd, the operator of a 31.5 km network with 37 trams and 51 stops following a major expansion, needed to replace its maintenance management system when it took over operations in 2012. The new solution had to support planned and reactive maintenance, inventory and purchasing, control‑room incident logging, third‑party access and automated reporting to meet contractual obligations and improve network reliability.
They implemented SSG Insight’s Agility across 135 users on a 24/7 shift pattern to manage maintenance, inventory, contractor workflows, control‑room logs and customer feedback. Since deployment downtime for failures has dropped from an average of 10 days to 1 day, asset availability runs at 98%, overdue work fell from 20% to 7%, and about 40 hours per month are saved in manual reporting; Nottingham Tram has also started using Agility for predictive maintenance and is pursuing finance and BI integrations.
