Agility prepares Bakkavor for a more efficient future

Bakkavor is the UK’s leading fresh prepared foods provider, with nearly 19,000 employees across 52 sites supplying over 5,000 products to major grocery retailers. Facing fragmented maintenance processes, the engineering team needed a next‑generation CMMS that could manage reactive and planned maintenance, control inventory and purchase orders, and integrate with core ERPs.

SoftSols’ Agility was rolled out starting in 2010 and has since been implemented at 13 sites, centralising maintenance, inventory and PO management and enabling mobile stores transactions in real time. The change delivered clear operational benefits: about 2,300 work orders are now generated weekly across sites, the reactive-to-planned maintenance ratio improved from 80/20 to 50/50, stock levels and critical-part availability are optimised, and overall equipment uptime and throughput have increased.
