UMB Financial Corporation’s wealth and institutional arms, UMB Private Wealth Management and Scout Investments, were constrained by a legacy on-premises portfolio system (Axys) and limited IT support. The split reporting landscape and frequent downtime — server reboots once caused 20–25 minute outages — hampered trading and required a second performance system. To address this, they turned to SS&C Advent and its solutions (Advent Portfolio Exchange/APX, Moxy, and Advent OnDemand).

SS&C Advent migrated UMB to APX, implemented Moxy for trading and moved hosting to Advent OnDemand, using SSRS for highly customized reporting. The managed-hosting solution eliminated internal maintenance, consolidated reporting into a single system, automated manual tasks, reduced errors and costs, freed IT and analyst time for higher-value work, and markedly improved system availability for UMB (UMB AUM $7B; Scout $31B).
