A SS&C Advent Case Study
The State Division of Investment Services, which manages about $84 billion in assets for the state’s retirees and teachers, faced limits from a 16‑year‑old homegrown portfolio system that only operated in US dollars and could not support private equity or other alternative asset classes. Seeking multi‑currency and multi‑asset capabilities, the agency selected SS&C Advent’s Geneva global portfolio management system to replace the legacy platform and handle a massive legacy data conversion.
SS&C Advent implemented Geneva with its Professional Services team and an onsite consultant, coordinating third‑party IV&V and a two‑year migration plan that converted 10 years of daily transaction history. The migration finished on time and under budget, and Geneva delivered measurable benefits — multi‑currency and private‑equity support, faster processing and integration with trading, custody and analytics feeds, streamlined reconciliations (now completed with the custodian by 10:00 a.m. versus 1:00 p.m. previously), and improved reporting.
