Somerset Capital Management, a London- and Singapore-based emerging markets fund manager with US$5.6 billion AUM, faced a growing operational and compliance challenge: the firm needed accurate, up-to-date pricing and security reference data to feed Advent Portfolio Exchange (APX), Moxy and Advent Rules Manager, but was manually extracting Bloomberg data into APX using spreadsheets and scripts. To solve this, Somerset turned to SS&C Advent and its cloud-based Advent Market Data service.

SS&C Advent implemented Advent Market Data to automate collection, cleanse and normalize reference and pricing data from multiple sources and deliver it directly into APX and Rules Manager. The result: spreadsheets and import scripts were eliminated, systems are automatically populated (usually resolved by the start of the day), Somerset gained access to broader data sets (e.g., Russell Bespoke content, market cap, shares outstanding, volumes), compliance was strengthened, manual effort and local IT overhead were reduced, and the cloud deployment better supports the firm’s global expansion.
