River Road Asset Management, an institutional investment firm managing roughly $3 billion across 100+ accounts, needed a more scalable, integrated back-office and reporting platform as it outgrew its early Axys setup. To address that challenge they selected SS&C Advent and its suite—most importantly Advent Portfolio Exchange (APX), along with Moxy and Advent Packager—to replace spreadsheets and support growth and compliance needs.

SS&C Advent migrated River Road to APX (with Advent Packager and Moxy for trading/workflow), moving two years of transactions smoothly and enabling integrated FIX and DTCC interfaces for near straight-through processing. The vendor’s solution cut daily performance reporting from about an hour to 10–15 minutes, delivered on-time monthly reports (meeting the 15th deadline rather than running days late), improved data access via APX’s SQL platform, and provided scalable, single-vendor support to accommodate continued growth.
