Piedmont Financial Trust - Customer Case Study

Piedmont Financial Trust, a single‑family office serving roughly 250 family members and 550 accounts, faced growing operational complexity and a high transaction volume (about 10,000–20,000 transactions per month) while running a small staff. To improve timeliness, daily reconciliation and consolidated reporting across multiple managers, Piedmont deployed SS&C Advent solutions including Advent Portfolio Exchange® (APX) and Advent’s straight‑through processing modules such as Advent Custodial Data®, Advent Corporate Actions®, Rex® and the DTCC Interface.

SS&C Advent implemented an integrated APX platform plus STP tools to automate custodial data collection, corporate‑action processing and reconciliations, enabling daily automated reconciliation and consolidated performance reporting. The automation reduced manual errors and staffing needs, saved an estimated three to four days of month‑end work by reconciling daily, and allowed Piedmont to handle its 10k–20k monthly transactions efficiently while positioning the firm to scale with minimal additional headcount.
