Ironwood Capital Management, a San Francisco–based fund-of-funds manager, faced escalating research and data-management challenges as proprietary information from hedge fund managers accumulated over 13 years. Data arrived in many formats and duplicated across multiple staff inboxes and drives, making it difficult to find, share and utilize critical information. To solve this, Ironwood engaged SS&C Advent to implement Tamale RMS.

SS&C Advent deployed Tamale RMS as a centralized, automated research repository integrated with Outlook and Microsoft Office, enabling easy capture, organization and fast search of emails, PDFs, presentations and meeting notes. The solution consolidated hundreds of thousands of items, reduced staff time handling incoming email by 75% (cutting five people’s daily logging to one), improved client responsiveness and compliance, and freed analysts to focus on investment decisions.
