Heptagon Capital, a London-based asset and wealth manager, faced a costly, cumbersome upgrade of its incumbent investment management system and lacked an internal IT team to support heavy customization. Seeking an intuitive, flexible, and lower-cost platform, Heptagon selected SS&C Advent’s platform built around Advent Portfolio Exchange (APX) to centralize performance history, portfolio values, cash flows and reporting.

SS&C Advent implemented APX, migrating Heptagon’s historical data, building custom dashboards and client reports (via the APX Microsoft Reporting Services framework), and automating custodial data uploads and daily reconciliation. The solution delivered clearer management reporting, scalable operations, and custom-branded client reports — and, according to Heptagon, has probably saved one full-time operations person while enabling faster, more accurate client and internal reporting.
