Certified Advisory Corporation, a family-led RIA with CFP-designated advisors and roughly $790 million in AUM, was hampered by an onsite portfolio accounting and reporting system that forced long nights and weekends to reconcile accounts and produce quarterly reports, and prevented advisors from accessing client performance data directly. To address these challenges they moved to the cloud-based Black Diamond wealth platform from SS&C Advent in 2012.

SS&C Advent implemented Black Diamond’s cloud platform with daily reconciliation, customizable reporting and firm-wide access, eliminating server upkeep and reducing reconciliation errors. The change let the back office complete work in normal business hours, restored staff work–life balance, enabled advisors to run reports anywhere, and supported business growth—assets grew about 40% in two years and the firm avoided hiring an additional person.
