Avalon Advisors, a Houston-based independent RIA, faced growing limitations with its legacy Axys setup — including compliance and access-control concerns, slow security/data updates, and an underperforming reconciliation provider — and needed stronger business continuity after severe Texas flooding. To solve this, Avalon selected SS&C Advent, moving to Advent Portfolio Exchange (APX) and transitioning its operations to Advent Outsourcing Services (AOS).

SS&C Advent implemented APX and provided cloud hosting and outsourced operations through AOS, taking over daily reconciliation, performance reporting and dedicated support. The move kept Avalon operating through the floods, delivers reconciled data before 8:00 AM CT, cut performance production from early-afternoon completion to running ~1,200 PDFs before 11:00 AM (about four hours), freed staff for higher-value work, and gave Avalon reliable, single-vendor support from SS&C Advent.
