Ontario-Based Conservation Authority Takes The Pain Out of Payments with Square 9

St. Clair Region Conservation Authority, an Ontario watershed management agency, was overwhelmed by an overflowing vault of planning, regulatory and financial paper records that had to be retained indefinitely and were costing time and offsite storage. After a failed implementation with another vendor, the Authority engaged Square 9 Softworks and adopted its GlobalSearch and GlobalCapture solutions to provide secure document management, indexing and an automated workflow for permits and payments.

Square 9 Softworks implemented browser-based workflows, online payment links and capture/indexing with GlobalCapture, digitizing all documents from 2018 onward and integrating payment data with the Authority’s Sage accounting system. The result: streamlined permit approvals, upfront payments so staff no longer have to chase fees, faster technical support, reduced manual data entry for finance (payments arrive pre-coded for easy upload), and a significant reduction in paper storage and administrative overhead.
