Commers Water, a 3rd-generation, family-owned water treatment and conditioning retailer with three Minnesota locations, faced challenges with paper-based processes that left employees searching for documents, processing illegible and incomplete sales orders, and lacking confirmation that orders reached the right department. To solve this, Commers Water worked with Square 9 Softworks and adopted their Enterprise Content Management tools — GlobalSearch, GlobalForms, and GlobalAction — to give all staff simultaneous access to documents and digitize order entry.
Square 9 Softworks implemented GlobalForms for required-field digital order entry, GlobalAction to route completed orders to the correct teams, and GlobalSearch to archive and make documents easily searchable. After training, the solution reduced the sales cycle, improved accountability and interdepartmental communication, and enabled managers to track documents through workflows; notably, 50% of the sales staff became completely paperless and a new repair-order form generated additional sales.
