Cellcom, Israel’s leading telecom with three million subscribers, was struggling with customer frustration and poor QoS from disconnected calls and complex faults hidden in billions of base-station logs. Facing prohibitive costs for traditional probe deployments at eNodeBs, Cellcom turned to SQream and its GPU-powered SQL database, SQream DB, for a more cost-effective analytics approach.

SQream implemented SQream DB on a 2U Dell server with NVIDIA Tesla GPUs, ingesting parsed eNodeB logs (via Talend) and delivering SpotFire-based near-real-time dashboards; engineers quickly identified a hard handover to femto-cells that was causing high drop rates and fixed it, reducing dropped calls by 90%. The SQream solution enabled fast analysis of massive datasets, improved network throughput and customer experience, and increased engineering productivity.
