Case Study: Winn-Dixie achieves rapid onboarding of nearly 500 indirect suppliers with SPS Commerce

A SPS Commerce Case Study

Preview of the Winn-Dixie Case Study

Winn-Dixie taps Community Development program to bring on hundreds of indirect suppliers to its network

Winn-Dixie, a large southeastern grocery retailer with about 480 stores and 63,000 employees, was EDI-connected to most direct suppliers but had almost no indirect vendors onboarded. To close that gap and improve trading‑partner relationships, Winn‑Dixie sought a partner to run a focused vendor enablement campaign.

Working with SPS Commerce, Winn‑Dixie executed a three‑month vendor enablement program that handled internal communications, vendor outreach, testing and implementation to onboard nearly 500 indirect suppliers. The initiative delivered new operational efficiencies, strong supplier connectivity and paved the way for additional EDI transactions (e.g., 855 and 856), with stakeholders praising SPS’s responsiveness and support.
