Case Study: Eastman Outdoors achieves reliable, lower-cost EDI and stronger trading-partner relationships with SPS Commerce

A SPS Commerce Case Study

Preview of the Eastman Outdoors Case Study

SPS is recommended due to the accuracy and reliability of their services

Eastman Outdoors, a leading maker of outdoor leisure products (brands include Carbon Express, Gorilla Gear and EXO Tech), sells through major North American retailers such as Bass Pro, Cabela’s and Wal‑Mart. The company struggled with an in‑house EDI solution that suffered frequent map failures, inaccurate ASNs and barcode labels, rising retailer chargebacks, and costly, slow customer support.

In January 2009 Eastman migrated to SPS Commerce’s SaaS EDI (SPSCommerce.net) integrated with its Epicor system. SPS implemented more than 50 trading‑partner connections before peak season, included proactive mapping changes and support in a lower monthly fee, and delivered more reliable integrations — improving retailer relationships, reducing operational risk, and earning praise from Eastman’s IT team.
