Sourcing Through SPS Commerce Positions SHOP.COM for Robust Growth, Customer Loyalty

SHOP.COM, part of Market America and a top-100 internet retailer, operates a large online comparison-shopping marketplace that lets customers browse products from thousands of merchants and earn cash-back rewards. To grow its own brand and improve the customer buying experience, SHOP.COM needed to build a direct drop-ship vendor network (with branded packaging and seamless order flow) and expand assortment in high-growth categories, but lacked the vendor connections and integration capabilities to do so at scale.

SHOP.COM partnered with SPS Commerce for Custom Sourcing and vendor onboarding, using SPS to recruit, vet and integrate qualified drop shippers and standardize supplier communications. Within about 15 months SHOP.COM added 50+ vendors and 100,000+ products, driving category gains (electronics +30% YoY, toys +10%) and overall orders and revenue up 45%, while securing vendors that supported its margins and loyalty program.
