A SPS Commerce Case Study
Sigma Healthcare, a major Australian healthcare wholesaler and distributor, faced significant supply chain inefficiencies due to low EDI compliance among its suppliers. With less than 20% of its 500 suppliers connected for automated orders and only a handful for invoicing, the company relied heavily on manual reconciliation processes. To address this challenge, Sigma partnered with vendor SPS Commerce to implement its Fulfillment and Community solutions as part of a wider company transformation initiative.
SPS Commerce integrated Sigma's IBM ASW ERP system with its retail network and rapidly onboarded the supplier community. The solution automated the exchange of orders and invoices, which drastically reduced manual work. As a result, SPS Commerce helped Sigma increase its number of EDI-compliant suppliers from 15 to 165 within just 12 weeks. This success laid the foundation for measurable future efficiencies in supply chain velocity, invoice processing, and inventory management.
