Case Study: OZtrail achieves automated purchase order processing and reduced errors with SPS Commerce

A SPS Commerce Case Study

Preview of the OzTrail Case Study

OZtrail & SPS Commerce Automating the Purchase Order Process

OZtrail, an outdoor and sporting goods supplier now part of the Adventure Operations group, saw order volumes and complexity surge as it began supplying national retailers and B2B customers. Manual purchase order processing—sometimes with orders of 400+ lines—left customer service teams spending days downloading and keying orders, creating errors and limiting the company’s ability to scale without adding headcount.

OZtrail implemented SPS Commerce Fulfillment (EDI) integrated with its Lilac ERP, working with SPS and their ERP partner to automate PO intake and meet trading partner requirements. The result: automated entry with end-to-end visibility, drastically reduced errors, staff redeployed to higher-value tasks, support for diverse fulfilment models (including SSCC labelling and cross-docking), and reliable handling of hundreds of transactions every few days.
