Osborn, LLC, a global leader in industrial brushes founded in 1887 that sells through distributors like Grainger and Fastenal, struggled with a costly, inflexible EDI VAN that made adding customers and changes slow and required internal expertise they didn’t have. The company needed a better EDI partner that could support business growth without adding staff.
Osborn deployed SPS Commerce’s full-service EDI (SPS Fulfillment) integrated with SAP ECC, handing SPS the management of trading-partner onboarding and EDI operations and automating iDOCs and order flows into SAP. The change cut error rates from over 30% to under 10%, eliminated many chargebacks, improved retailer scorecards, avoided new hires, and was extended with SPS Analytics to normalize POS data from 18 distributors for faster, actionable sales insights.
