Nextsport Integrated SPS Fulfillment EDI with NetSuite ERP to Help Support Major Retailer Orders

Nextsport, a designer and manufacturer of sporting goods sold through major retailers such as Target, Toys“R”Us and Walmart, needed a full-service EDI partner that could handle all electronic trading with retailers and integrate directly with its NetSuite ERP. To support growing retailer requirements and improve visibility across its supply chain, Nextsport sought an on-demand solution that would simplify trading partner onboarding and operations.

Nextsport selected SPS Commerce in 2006 for its prebuilt retailer maps and proven NetSuite integration, connecting via SPSCommerce.net and later partnering with Logistic Edge as its 3PL (now handling 95% of orders). SPS implemented EDI for NetSuite and WebForms for smaller customers, and in 2010 Nextsport added SPS’ Trading Partner Intelligence to view store-level sell-through for about 70% of its retailers (POS data from 120+ retailers). The result: faster integrations, streamlined order-to-ship workflows, improved inventory management, and more proactive, data-driven discussions with buyers—helping support new product launches and reduce stock risk.
