JR Watkins EDI Keeps Up with Growing Sales with Big Retailer Trading Partners like Target

J.R. Watkins Co., a Winona, Minn. maker of natural consumer goods since 1868, sells more than 300 products through direct sales and major retailers across the U.S. and Canada. Rapid retail growth and rising order volumes exposed limits in its in-house fulfillment system and created heavy integration and trading-partner requirements, so the company needed a scalable, network-based solution that wouldn’t require adding IT staff.

In January 2014 J.R. Watkins adopted SPS Integrated Fulfillment for its large-volume customers (keeping SPS Fulfillment for lower-volume accounts). Today about 60 retailers—roughly 75% of orders—are processed through SPS; integrations now take weeks or less and SPS manages POs, ASNs and invoices, cutting manual work, speeding onboarding and freeing staff to focus on growth and core business.
