IMCO Carbide Tool, a global leader in advanced cutting-tool technologies selling some 8,000 products through distributors across North and South America, Europe and the Pacific Rim, wanted to become the easiest supplier to order from so distributors would pick IMCO by default. Their challenge was to simplify and speed ordering and ensure compliance with detailed shipping instructions so they’d be the path of least resistance for distributors.
IMCO integrated SPS Commerce Fulfillment with their Epicor ERP to automate EDI orders, shipments and invoices. The automation cut order processing time by 87% (turning 30‑minute manual orders into minutes and reducing weekly 3–4 hour Friday entry to about 30 minutes), improved shipping accuracy and compliance, freed staff time for other work, and helped drive increased sales as EDI is rolled out to more customers.
