Gemplers, a Mount Horeb, Wisconsin–based farm and home supply retailer since 1939, sells via catalog, e-commerce and a retail store and manages more than 30,000 SKUs. To provide customers clear product availability and order status across channels, the company needed to enhance order automation and reduce time-consuming manual vendor outreach.
Gemplers partnered with SPS Commerce Community to handle vendor outreach and full-service EDI onboarding, taking on vendor compliance and project management. As a result, EDI-capable vendors grew from just 3–4 to about 98, 65% of purchase orders now flow through the SPS platform within a year, and Gemplers has cut manual work while improving purchasing and accounting efficiency.
