VIP Products, founded by Steven Sacra, makes highly durable dog toys (Bentley & Bunny, DuraForce, Mighty, Silly Squeakers, Tuffy) and sells more than 600 SKUs through online channels and big-box retailers. As the business scaled, complex retailer data, shipment requirements and rapid delivery expectations made order fulfillment and EDI too time-consuming for the internal team, so they needed a way to automate those processes and keep staff focused on product innovation and customer service.
VIP partnered with SPS Commerce to outsource EDI and retailer integration; SPS handles day-to-day communications, vendor setup and transaction processing. The result: automated EDI with more than 35 retailers across roughly 20,000 locations, orders, shipments and invoices processed in 10–15 seconds, faster onboarding with new retailers, and freed-up staff time to concentrate on design, manufacturing and sales growth.
