How EKZ promotes intelligent power supply in Switzerland

EKZ, a major Swiss energy supplier, wanted to boost customer retention by selling smart-home devices and bundled services as subscriptions through a new webshop—but needed a flexible, modular commerce platform and did not have in-house developers. EKZ chose Spryker and rejected a standard SaaS solution so it could support complex pricing, availability, discount rules and subscription logic while keeping full technology ownership.

Spryker implemented a headless Commerce OS with its GLUE API and State Machine to automate ordering, integrate payment and third‑party systems, and roll out an MVP that was expanded to include subscription features based on early user feedback. The Spryker solution delivered the required flexibility and ownership for EKZ, with stable, performant and scalable processes under high traffic and faster implementation of subscription and service offerings.
