The City of Callaway, Florida (pop. 15,216) faced catastrophic damage when Hurricane Michael leveled city hall and destroyed the on‑premises server that hosted its financial, payroll, and utility data. To address needs for integration, data stability, and support, the city had partnered with Springbrook and migrated to Springbrook Cloud, including its Financial Suite, Utility Billing and CivicPay solutions, months before the storm.

Because the City’s data was hosted and backed up in Springbrook Cloud, Director of Finance David Schultz was able to process payroll within five days using only a laptop and a cellular hotspot — even running payroll a day early to ease staff burden — despite the physical server being destroyed. Springbrook’s integrated cloud backup, security, maintenance and training kept financial and utility operations running, enabling continuity of services for roughly 15,000 residents and speeding the city’s recovery.
