A Spree Commerce Case Study
MeUndies, a Los Angeles startup founded in 2011, set out to make underwear shopping fun and easy with bold designs and a subscription service after its founder was frustrated by boring in‑store options. The business needed to continually introduce new prints to keep subscribers engaged, support a mobile-first audience (60% of traffic), and manage a complex array of sizes, colors and patterns without a cluttered shopping experience.
To solve this, MeUndies built its store on Spree (with a Rails/React stack), enabling scalable recurring payments, shipment workflows and easy integrations. A block‑grid product selector, simplified cart and streamlined checkout improved mobile usability and product browsing. The approach helped fuel rapid growth — around 3x year‑over‑year — with roughly 40% of revenue now coming from the subscription program.
