Garmentory luxury fashion marketplace grows 400% on Spree

Garmentory is a curated eCommerce marketplace founded in 2014 to connect independent boutiques and emerging designers with young luxury shoppers. Faced with small retailers’ limited tech resources and a problematic “make an offer” checkout that hurt conversions and constrained inventory, Garmentory needed a scalable platform to aggregate full store inventories and improve sales performance.

They built an extensively customized Spree-based Ruby on Rails platform to pull in entire boutique catalogs and unify checkout, leveraging Spree’s flexibility to scale quickly. The result: partnerships grew from about 25 to 400+ boutiques worldwide, site traffic jumped roughly 3,000%, and the customer base expanded about 300% year over year.
