Case Study: École achieves one-click mobile menswear shopping for Millennial men with Spree Commerce

A Spree Commerce Case Study

Preview of the École Case Study

École launches Spree store for Millennial Men who like dressing, but hate shopping

École, launched in New York in 2015, is a mobile‑first menswear startup that targets style‑minded “Henrys” (Higher Earners, Not Rich Yet) aged ~30–35 in about 25 U.S. cities. The challenge was to serve men who like dressing well but hate shopping by simplifying discovery and purchase into a single, intuitive flow that lets customers get a complete look with one click.

The team built a Spree Commerce store with a Discovery+Commerce UX: product‑group merchandising, look‑based browsing, and a one‑touch checkout powered by Slick.js, JavaScript/jQuery and a customized Spree checkout API. The result: a streamlined mobile shopping experience that established École as a pioneer in men’s e‑commerce and earned coverage from VICE, TechCrunch and WWD.
