A Spredfast Case Study
GMA News partnered with Vizrt and Spredfast to transform its 2013 Philippine election coverage into an interactive online and on-air social experience. The challenge was to capture and amplify public conversation in real time, drive viewers between TV and digital channels, and lift engagement and traffic using a coordinated paid, owned, and earned media approach.
Using Spredfast’s social platform and Vizrt’s 3D real‑time graphics/virtual studio, GMA deployed live visualizations (Kandidato Buzz Index, Voting Experience Poll), integrated social publishing on air, and ran Facebook ads to boost participation. The campaign generated 839,000 posts, a social reach of 3.1 million, an 11.6% household rating on election day, 9.4 million page views on election day and over 21 million the following day, and ad-driven visitors spent 32% more time on site than organic visitors.
