The University of Melbourne needed to expand and improve wireless coverage across its many campuses and buildings in Victoria, including teaching spaces, theatres, heritage buildings, laboratories, galleries, offices, and accommodation. Spotless Group, through Nuvo Group, provided wireless network installation services using Cisco Power over Ethernet (PoE) access points.

Spotless Group completed a two-year program that installed more than 2,600 new access points across over 400 buildings, including patching, labelling, testing, and certification for a 25-year warranty. The project cost $3 million and expanded wireless coverage to more than 80% of university space, increased total access points to 4,000, and boosted daily users from 20,000 to 30,000, with further CMX and big data expansion planned.
