City of Ryde, in New South Wales, Australia, needed a more efficient way to manage and upgrade its street lighting network. Spotless Group, through its Utility Asset Management brand, supported the council with sustainability and utility support services, including a unique LED lighting retrofit program with smart control technology.

Spotless Group retrofitted 128 metal halide luminaires with energy-efficient LED luminaires, installed control system access points, and connected each light to an RF control node for wireless monitoring and management. The solution replaced traditional night patrols with web-based daytime diagnostics, improved control over lighting levels, and enabled automated alerts and reports, helping City of Ryde achieve its goal of 50% energy savings across the retrofitted network.
