Trax chooses Spotinst Elastigroup to provision, manage and scale infrastructure on Google Cloud

Trax, a global leader in computer vision for CPGs and retailers, needed to process millions of shelf images monthly with heavy CPU/GPU workloads that must scale dynamically. To control costs they adopted Google Preemptible VMs, but these ephemeral instances created reliability and scaling challenges requiring integration with Pub/Sub, Google Backend Services and protection of in‑flight work—so Trax turned to Spot and its Elastigroup offering to provision, manage and scale their Google Cloud infrastructure.

Spot’s Elastigroup provided cluster orchestration that predicts interruptions, mixes Preemptible and On‑Demand VMs, integrates with Pub/Sub and Backend Services, and uses a Lock/Unlock feature to protect active VMs while learning task runtimes for smarter auto‑scaling. As a result, Trax now runs Preemptible VMs reliably in production, gains unified visibility and automated blue/green deployments, and reduced infrastructure costs by about 80%.
