Rancher Integration Allows VUALTO To Increase Efficiency By 70-75%

VUALTO, a fast-moving SaaS commerce platform processing frequent deploys and serving major retail brands, faced inefficient cloud spend despite a large Reserved Instance (RI) investment. Their challenge was underutilized RIs across multiple accounts and the need to scale elastically without resorting to expensive On‑Demand instances. VUALTO had never run Spot Instances in production and was concerned about the operational risk and management overhead.

Spot implemented Elastigroup, integrating with VUALTO’s Elastic Beanstalk environments to automatically prioritize and consume idle RIs and scale the remainder on Spot Instances. The deployment—completed from trial to production in two days with partner RealCloud—delivered automated RI utilization, reliable Spot scaling with no interruptions, and immediate cost-efficiency gains; VUALTO now runs production workloads on Spot with plans to extend the approach to Kubernetes.
