Postman Runs Elastic Beanstalk On Spot Instances To Save 75%

Postman, the API development platform used by millions, needed to cut rising AWS costs without sacrificing the reliability of its Elastic Beanstalk–based infrastructure. The team wanted to use EC2 Spot Instances for big savings but was concerned about interruptions and integration complexity, so they evaluated vendors and chose Spot’s Elastigroup Elastic Beanstalk integration.

Spot’s solution copied Postman’s Beanstalk configurations and ran the majority of workloads on Spot Instances without changing workflows or architecture, with Spot’s support available when needed. As a result Postman now runs much of its Beanstalk fleet on Spot via Spot, achieving the intended cost reduction (about 75% savings on compute) while maintaining operational reliability.
