Petabyte is a cloud compute consultancy that helps enterprises optimize infrastructure and run large applications. One of their customers ran SAP ECC FMS on SAP HANA (1 TB, 27 Linux servers, 100+ users) in AWS and needed to cut infrastructure costs by at least 45%; simple scheduling only reduced costs by 15% and using spot instances risked disruptive terminations. The Spot-enabled solution delivered over 65% infrastructure cost reduction for the customer, with Petabyte estimating hundreds of thousands of dollars saved over five years thanks to improved scaling and spot-instance discounts.
