Porter, India’s leading logistics company, needed a way to manage rapidly growing cloud costs with a very lean DevOps and cloud engineering team. Before working with Spot, Porter relied on a mix of AWS placement strategies, commitments, and custom scripts to manage ECS task rebalancing, but still lacked the tooling to accurately forecast usage spikes and avoid overprovisioning.

Spot’s Ocean helped Porter optimize its container infrastructure with app-driven autoscaling, bin packing, and EC2 Spot instance coverage across AWS ECS environments. After a 60-day proof of concept, Porter migrated staging and production to Ocean, achieved 10–20% greater cost efficiency, and ultimately moved 100% of its production environment to Spot-managed Spot instances while improving visibility, uptime confidence, and cost attribution.
