Finova, a UK-based fintech serving the mortgage, lending, and savings sectors, was struggling with overspending and limited visibility across its Azure environments. As its development and testing usage grew, annual compute spend exceeded £1M, and the company needed a way to control costs without sacrificing performance or reliability. Spot’s Elastigroup, part of Flexera’s VM optimization offering, was brought in to help Finova make cloud spend more manageable and accountable.

Using Spot’s Elastigroup, Finova shifted stateful workloads from PAYG VMs to Azure Spot VMs with guardrails and fallback capabilities. Spot helped Finova cut Azure compute spend by almost 70% in its internal development and testing environment, achieve 98.5% spot coverage, and give teams better visibility into usage and costs. The result was lower spend, stronger FinOps practices, and faster development with more compute power for the same budget.
