Albert Heijn worked with Spoon Guru to improve online discovery for health, dietary, and lifestyle products. In 2018, the retailer’s e-commerce search could only rely on dietary statements on-pack, while supplier data arrived in multiple languages and was incomplete, making it difficult for shoppers to find the right products and limiting the retailer’s ability to stand out in the Dutch market.

Spoon Guru implemented Product Discovery TAGs® across web and app, enriching Albert Heijn’s product data with 80+ allergen, health, and lifestyle attributes for search, filters, dietary mini-hubs, and front-of-pack icons. The result was better category and ranging management and NPD decisions, less friction in the purchase funnel, and a roughly 100% increase in searchable products, helping Albert Heijn communicate health, diet, and lifestyle information more clearly online and in store.
