Otago Polytechnic, a New Zealand tertiary education provider, faced challenges in managing its aging building portfolio and meeting compliance reporting requirements. SPM Assets implemented its software, which included a Self-Service Reporting module, to help Otago Polytechnic develop a detailed view of its assets and enable lifecycle planning. The solution provided the data and analytics needed for confident budgeting, maintenance planning, and investment in new builds. As a result, Otago Polytechnic evolved to an advanced understanding of asset management, creating evidence-based business cases for three new buildings and establishing a systematic, transparent process for capital expenditure allocation across all departments.
