Housing Choices Australia (HCA), a national not-for-profit housing provider, needed to improve the maintenance and strategic management of its portfolio of over 3,200 properties. They engaged vendor SPM Assets to implement a specialized configuration of the SPM Assets application to facilitate evidence-based, long-term asset planning.

SPM Assets implemented its software, including its Mobile module for infield surveys, to help HCA create a detailed picture of each dwelling and forecast future maintenance issues. The solution identified current and future shortfalls, determined necessary projects, and provided evidence to support the budgeting process. This gave HCA a much greater understanding of their portfolio and even highlighted properties that did not meet their long-term strategic needs.
